Karl Stewart

Karl Stewart is an award-winning author that was raised in post-WWII West Virginia, and although he moved to Wisconsin in his teen years, his writing harkens back to the forested mountains. Loosely based on the life of his Choctaw great-grandfather, Seebird, his novels span the time period from the 1880s to the 1950s. His latest novel, Up Harvey's Creek, a semi-autobiographical novel, won an "Honorable Mention" award at the 2018 Great Southeast Book Festival in New Orleans. It relates the story of a young boy dealing with his father's struggle with WWII induced Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder (PTSD).
