Split Rock Review
Crystal is the founder and editor in chief of Split Rock Review, co-editor of Waters Deep: A Great Lakes Poetry Anthology, and author of NOW/HERE (Holy Cow! Press), winner of the 2017 Northeastern Minnesota Book Award for poetry and runner-up for the 2017 Edna Meudt Poetry Book Award from the Council for Wisconsin Writers. She holds a PhD in English with concentrations in Creative Writing, 20th and 21st Century American Poetry, and North American Environmental Literature from the University of Nebraska. Crystal is the recipient of grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board, Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, and Chequamegon Bay Arts Council. Her work has appeared in Arc Poetry Magazine, Cincinnati Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Prairie Schooner, Verse Daily, The Writer’s Almanac, and elsewhere. Currently, Crystal is writing her second poetry collection Re: Wild, which focuses on native and non-native invasive species inhabiting Lake Superior and the surrounding area. She lives on the south shore of Lake Superior in Wisconsin.
